INTERNSHIPS
CORNELL UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF HOTEL ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Since 2000, TBC Hotels has maintained a successful summer internship program through a partnership with the world-renowned School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. TBC Hotels seeks to continually educate students through these internships by offering real-world experience in the hospitality industry.
The summer internship program has been developed to provide students with touch points across all aspects of hotel ownership and management, in hopes to provide them with an area of focus upon graduation. The program starts off in corporate hotel operations and advances into Asset Management. Following a fundamental grasp on the operational and financial components of how TBC Hotels owns and operates hotels, the internship moves into the final component of Acquisitions. The program builds upon each component of the hospitality industry, culminating in an end of summer project or presentation.
Through this internship program, TBC Hotels helps cultivate the hospitality leaders of tomorrow, while also benefiting from a positive relationship with the world’s leading hospitality education institution. Many of the TBC Hotels’ summer interns go on to accept positions at leading hospitality firms all over the world.
KENNEDY KRIEGER INSTITUTE WORK BASED LEARNING PROGRAM
Beginning in 2017, TBC Hotels began collaborating with the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Montgomery County Campus. The Kennedy Krieger Institute is an internationally recognized institution dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with pediatric developmental disabilities and disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system. Through patient care, special education, research, and professional training the institute assists students in pinpointing the industries in which they can succeed in the workplace. TBC Hotels’ partnership offers a work location for the Montgomery County Campus’s work-based learning program, where students are provided with opportunities to use and expand their knowledge and skills of the hospitality industry. The partnership has been a great success and both parties are looking forward to a long and happy relationship, to continue serving and assisting students looking to enter the job force for years to come.
TBC Hotels is honored to receive the ‘Washington Post Top Places to Work Award’ in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
